Cserhát Biokert is a microfarm, which aims to provide nearby and Budapest located restaurants with premium quality seasonal vegetables. We are aiming to grow the best quality vegetables suiting the latest gastronomic trends and demands. Our mission is to have an ongoing relationship with the chefs, which ensures the satisfaction of both parties.
Our primary focus is on leafy greens, which are being used as premium salad ingredients at the local restaurants. During production and processing our biggest concern is quality. We are always aiming to deliver the highest quality products to our partners. All of our products are freshly picked, properly washed and packed, and being stored at cool temperature before delivery.
Our farm is located inside Bér, 70 km northeast from Budapest. The garden is situated in the centre of the village, where we have an amazing stonehouse along with a small creek behind the garden.
We are using organic and regenerative methods on our farm, and by combining these techniques our goal is to create a sustainable system on a long term. Based on the organic principles, we are not using any chemicals, we only use biological products. Regarding pest and weed management, we are using the most innovative agrotechnical practices and tools, and our main goal is prevention. We are working with permanent beds using no-till methods, which ensures the regeneration and vitalisation of the soil.
Cserhát Biokert is controlled by hungarian organization named Hungária Öko Garancia and our farm will be certified organic from 2020.
